Excellent fit and power transfer
I've had Specialized BG Experts 2009 and Shimano XC50 2014 and now these. Been using them for 2 weeks. My foot is 277mm which fits perfectly into Shimano 44 (278mm). Specialized 44 were a tiny big and too roomy in the toe box. These are in the middle regarding room in the toe box and length between Shimano and Specialized. If the UK did it I would go for a 43.5 which is 280mm as the 43 is 277mm which is exactly my foot size but would leave no wiggle room or room for thick socks (44 is 284mm). However, I use my Specialized inner soles with their high arch support, and they push my foot a bit more forwards meaning the 44 is a better fit than using the NW inner soles, Dials are fantastic- positive clicks and love the feature of releasing one click at a time. There is also the full release button, but the single option release as well makes it better in my opinion than BOA dials that don't have this feature. The lack of a tongue made it painful on the top of my foot but over a few rides everything loosened up and they are super comfy. The sole is stiffer than the Shimanos (which didn't have any carbon) and slightly less stiffer than the Specialized- I think these NW have the best balance. The power transfer is really good and stiff and walking in them is comfy with a little bit of flex. Look wise they are svelte and from above look like a road shoe- definitely the best looking shoes I have had.

Good shoes
Super stiff shoe with good energy transfer. I like the micro release of the boa so you can adjust the tightness. I have ridden this shoe at 200km gravel brevet and several rides, I like the stability when you are walking. BUT a major flaw is that the upper tongue doesn't have any foam and there is a direct contact with the skin so your skin it will burn even with long socks !
